Course Description

This internationally recognized program trains technicians in rope access techniques for safe work at height, including ascent/descent, rescue, and inspection in difficult-to-reach areas.

What you'll learn in this Course?

The Rope Access Program (IRATA / SPRAT Level) trains personnel to perform inspection and maintenance work at height using rope access techniques. It covers rope access fundamentals including principles of rope access, IRATA and SPRAT systems, scope of work, and ethical conduct. Equipment knowledge includes harnesses, connectors, ropes, devices, anchors, rigging systems, and equipment inspection. Access techniques cover ascending, descending, changeover maneuvers, and work positioning. Rescue techniques include self-rescue, assisted rescue, haul systems, and emergency response. Anchorage and rigging include anchor selection, load paths, redundancy systems, and risk assessment. Work at height safety covers fall protection, hazard identification, rescue planning, and permit compliance. Inspection and maintenance of equipment include pre-use inspection, formal inspection, quarantine procedures, and storage practices. Job execution and supervision cover method statements, tool control, communication systems, and housekeeping. Documentation and compliance include logbooks, rescue plans, work records, and client reporting. Industrial applications include inspection work, maintenance tasks, confined access, and shutdown support.

The module highlights how thoughtful planning can directly improve project quality, reduce accidents, and help projects finish on time and within budget.
