Big opportunities tomorrow.
This hands-on program trains fabricators in sheet metal layout, cutting, bending, assembly, and installation for ducting, enclosures, and guards in industrial applications.
The Sheet Metal Fabricator Program provides practical skills and technical knowledge required for industrial sheet metal fabrication and installation. Sheet metal fundamentals include material types, thickness gauges, industrial applications, and the role of the fabricator. Material cutting techniques cover shearing, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and quality checks. Forming and bending include rolling techniques, press brake operations, bend allowances, and dimensional accuracy control. Fabrication drawings focus on pattern development, shop drawings, marking techniques, and tolerance control. Joint preparation and assembly include seaming techniques, fastening methods, welding coordination, and assembly fit-up. Industrial components fabrication covers ducts and hoods, panels and enclosures, casings, and cladding. Surface finish and protection include deburring, surface treatment, coating preparation, and corrosion prevention. Inspection and quality control address dimensional inspection, visual checks, defect correction, and rework handling. Safety and workshop practices include machine guarding, PPE usage, fire safety, and housekeeping. Site installation practices cover handling and lifting, on-site fitment, coordination with other trades, and final handover.
The module highlights how thoughtful planning can directly improve project quality, reduce accidents, and help projects finish on time and within budget.
