Course Description

This practical training equips fabricators with skills in structural steel cutting, fitting, welding, and erection for platforms, supports, and industrial structures.

What you'll learn in this Course?

The Structural Fabricator Program provides practical and technical knowledge required for fabrication of steel structures used in industrial and infrastructure projects. It covers structural fabrication fundamentals including structural components, steel grades, application scope, and fabricator responsibilities. Material handling and storage include plate and section handling, identification methods, proper storage practices, and damage prevention. Cutting and preparation cover oxy-fuel cutting, plasma cutting, edge preparation, and dimensional checks. Fit-up and assembly include member alignment, tolerance control, tack welding practices, and stability checks. Welding coordination addresses weld symbols, welding sequence, distortion control, and repair awareness. Structural frames fabrication includes beams and columns, bracing systems, platforms and supports, and understanding of load paths. Dimensional inspection covers plumb and level checks, bolt hole alignment, overall geometry verification, and correction methods. Bolting and connections include bolt grades, torque control, connection integrity, and inspection readiness. Surface preparation and painting cover surface cleaning, coating preparation, handling after painting, and damage repair. Safety and workshop discipline include lifting safety, hot work precautions, PPE standards, and housekeeping.

The module highlights how thoughtful planning can directly improve project quality, reduce accidents, and help projects finish on time and within budget.
